Frequently asked questions about admissions

Q

I want to study Chinese in China. Which program is right for me?

A

The Academy's core mission is to cultivate young future leaders with a global perspective and multi-disciplinary capabilities, emphasizing the study of Chinese culture and modern Chinese disciplines and their applications. Therefore, our core program is the 3-year high school diploma program. If your goal is to enter a top Chinese university for further study, our high school program is a solid bridge to Chinese universities. To meet Chinese education policy requirements, applicants should be between 15 and 16 years old.

If the academic program aligns with your plans but you are younger or have not yet reached the HSK Level 4 entry requirement, we offer a 1-year high school preparatory program for applicants aged 14–15. One year of preparatory study will help you get ready for the formal high school program.

If these options do not fit your goals and you mainly want to understand Chinese culture and modern China through language study, or prepare for a career requiring Chinese, we recommend our Chinese Language Diploma Program. This 2-year program focuses on practical Chinese for daily life and the workplace and aims to improve proficiency efficiently.

Q

Are there age requirements and restrictions for applicants to each program?

A

Recommended age for high school diploma program applicants: 15–16 years old.

Recommended age for preparatory program applicants: 14–15 years old.

Age requirement for Chinese Language Diploma Program applicants: under 25.

Q
