Historical Evolution
School Founding
Founded under the care of Premier Zhou Enlai, by the Overseas Chinese Affairs Committee of the former Central People's Government to help overseas Chinese youth overcome language barriers.
Renaming and Restructuring
In 1969, affected by the Cultural Revolution, the school was forced to close; in 1977, with reform and opening up, it gradually resumed; in 1979, renamed "Guangxi Overseas Chinese School"; in 1983, restructured to "Nanning Overseas Chinese Remedial School" and established "Guangxi Southeast Asia Vocational School"; in 1984, renamed "Guangxi Overseas Chinese Staff Secondary Specialized School"; in 1998, added "Nanning Chinese Language and Culture School" qualification, forming a pattern of "overseas student remediation + Chinese language training + vocational education".
Official Naming
Approved by the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Government, merging "Nanning Overseas Chinese Remedial School" and "Guangxi Overseas Chinese Staff Secondary Specialized School", officially renamed "Guangxi Overseas Chinese School", and established "Nanning Overseas Chinese Experimental High School" to offer international student high school education.
Academy Establishment
To implement the spirit of the Belt and Road Initiative and the concept of building a community with a shared future for mankind, with the approval of the United Front Work Department and Nanning Education Bureau, jointly established "Xiangyu Wenshu Academy" with the Guangxi Overseas Chinese School Chinese Language Education Center, named after Premier Zhou Enlai's courtesy name "Xiangyu" and his wife Deng Yingchao's original name "Wenshu".

Harmonious Unity, Soaring Across the World
」"Harmonious Unity" is the original intention of meeting and the wisdom of coexistence.
Young international students at the academy come from different countries, different ethnic backgrounds, with different beliefs and habits, like many different kinds of birds flying thousands of miles to gather on the big tree of the academy. The character "Luan" comes from Premier Zhou Enlai's childhood name "Da Luan", which means an auspicious bird in Chinese, representing the hope that every student will have the broad mind, shining character and infinite talent like the young Enlai.
The phrase "Wan Luan" is similar in sound to "Bandung", paying tribute to Premier Zhou Enlai's proposal of "seeking common ground while reserving differences and peaceful coexistence" at the Bandung Conference. In today's world still marked by war and division, this spirit is even more precious. Students from various countries study Chinese hard at the academy, using Chinese to dialogue, debate, and cooperate, practicing "communicating through Chinese" - when language is connected, barriers decrease, understanding increases, and prejudice diminishes; this harmonious resonance is the most beautiful symphony of youth, and the most vivid annotation of the concept of a community with a shared future for mankind.
"Soaring Across the World" is the direction of growth and lifelong responsibility.
"Xiang" means spreading wings and flying fearlessly to distant places; "Yu" means the four directions of heaven and earth, the vast world stage. "Xiang" and "Yu" together form Premier Zhou Enlai's courtesy name Xiangyu, symbolizing a spiritual relay and inheritance.
The character "Ji" in Chinese not only means "arrival" - the hope that students will reach new heights in academics and life through their studies at the academy; but also carries the meaning of "relief" and "saving the world" - using knowledge to benefit others and taking action to alleviate suffering. No matter returning to their homeland or going to any corner of the world, they hope to contribute to their country and people, and to shine for the peace and development of all mankind. This is the complete hope of "Soaring Across the World" - flying to the farthest places to do the most meaningful things.

Student Life and Environment
Xiangyu Wenshu Academy is located in the Xiansihu Campus of Guangxi Nanning, adjacent to Shibu Station on Metro Line 1, convenient transportation. Campus covers 600 mu, with 200,000 square meters of building area, beautiful environment and complete facilities.
The school has modern teaching buildings, library, laboratories, gymnasium, medical clinic, canteen, student apartments and other facilities. Student apartments are 4-6 people per room, each equipped with independent bathroom, air conditioning, water heater, desk and wardrobe.
